Guidance on how to stop feeling overwhelmed when you have too many ideas and use your intuition to help you move forward with any project.

Having a plethora of ideas is a great gift, and a very good problem to have, however, it can also be a burden if you do not have the correct tools to use this gift to your advantage.
Feelings of being overwhelmed are linked to feelings of the unknown.
In not completely defining how big a project is, we allow our imaginations to run away with us, blowing everything out of proportion, which in turn creates stress, and feelings of incapability, which can quickly become paralysis.
Sometimes, when we have too many ideas, and a project or goal has lots of tasks required to get it to it's end game, the mere thought of knowing where it start is mind boggling.
"There’s so much to do, what’s the point?" or “I don’t even know where to start”.
Sound familiar?
The key is to not let the defeatist mindset win.
You can do this.
But no amount of procrastinating, worrying or going backwards and forwards about it in your mind is going to help.
How to Deal with Overwhelm Paralysis
Firstly, in order to deal with the dreaded overwhelm paralysis, do not let your fears of lack: lack of time, lack of money, lack of resources, stop you or paralyze you from moving forward.
Remember, that even a small step is still a step. And any step forward, is a step in the right direction. The key element to correcting this problem is to define all of the tasks that you are feeling overwhelmed by.
What does that mean?
Basically, it's a simple as writing down a list of everything that you have swimming around in your head.
But that sounds too simple right? What about blah, blah, blah…?
The answer to that fear based thinking is:
Never underestimate the power of a great list!
Create a list to relieve stress and anxiety
When you’ve listed everything required to achieve your goal, or complete your project to a certain point, then list sub-items under the items in your list, until you have defined all of the elements and tasks that you have set before you.
Although we think that seeing this long list of items will push us further into fear and worry, in fact, it will do the opposite, as it will instil in us a sense of calm, order and organisation.
Once we can see all of the required tasks before us, we can then take control and begin to prioritise and complete each task in turn.
There are no longer any surprises, and the tendency to feel fear, worry or lack is dissolved with our new found sense of order.
Plus, the trick is that you will likely find that many of the tasks required can be done quickly and easily, with the added bonus of the larger items on the list being broken up into smaller, more manageable things to do.
Hit the nail on the head, as the saying goes, and face up to your project and it’s long list of requirements as soon as you can, and you will feel lighter, stronger and more in control.
Then, as you complete each task, you can feel proud of yourself as you move closer toward your goal.

Still sound too overwhelming? Here's another list to try...
If the thought of writing such a big, long list is still freaking you out, then the end-to-start Reverse Goal Creator list is a great way to get you moving.
You can download the free worksheet from our website at the link above.
How does it work? Well, basically, you start by writing down the goal itself, whatever it is, as if you've already achieved it...
Then, under that, write three steps you took or tasks you would have needed to complete to get there.
Under that, you list three things you did to help you achieve your dream, and so on until you get to the starting point of your project.
This way you are creating a reverse map of your project, and can see in a clear and concise way how you can get there, and what you need to do along the way.
How to co-create with Spirit
If you like the idea of co-creating with Spirit and using your intuition to assist you in completing tasks, lists and projects then this exercise is for you!
Co-creating Intuition Exercise Version 1:
Get a sheet of paper and write a list of all of the tasks you 'should' or 'need' to do for the day, week or the entire project - whichever is the most appropriate.
Sit comfortably, breathe deeply and allow yourself to become centered, and do this for as long as you need to, whether it be a few minutes or longer.
When you feel that you are in a calm state of mind, close your eyes and set your intention that you are going to co-create with spirit, and allow spirit to guide you using your intuition.
Take your piece of paper and slowly run your finger down the list you created.
As you do, check in with your feelings, intuition and inner knowing.
Do you feel a leap inside when your finger passes a certain point on the paper? Whatever you feel, when you think it's a 'hit', open your eyes and see what you're pointing at - that is where you should start!
Co-creating Intuition Exercise Version 2:
This version of the above exercise is very similar, but instead of running your finger down a sheet of paper, we're first going to fold it in to 12 equal parts.
When you've done that, cut out each rectangle and write a task, or goal on each piece of paper.
Once again, sit comfortably, breathe deeply and allow yourself to become centered, and do this for as long as you need to.
When you feel that you're in a calm state of mind, close your eyes and set your intention that you are going to co-create with spirit, and allow spirit to guide you using your intuition.
When you're ready, place your pieces of paper in your lap, and with eyes closed, hold up each piece of paper in front of yourself.
Feel your intuition at work and the guidance of Spirit whether it's a 'Yes' or a 'No'.
Place each 'Yes' or 'No' on opposite sides of yourself as you go through each piece of paper, and if you're not sure about one, simply place it at the back of the pile to come back to.
When you've tuned in to each piece of paper, and feel happy with your selections, open your eyes and see what your guidance is, and what tasks you have before you to begin or continue with your project.
Trust your intuition!
It is a very powerful tool when creating something new, and one that is often overlooked.
So, do yourself a favor...make a list, whatever way feels right to you, take control and stop letting the feelings of being overwhelmed paralyze you into doing nothing!
You are creative.
You are strong.
You can make it happen!
